The death of Swan, aged 17, has been announced. 

Swan was an insatiable romantic throughout his life, affording many besotted couples escapism from the bustle of Alton Towers and time alone. For his 17 year life, too, he was a tireless workhorse, spending his day peacefully gliding through the lake in front of Merrie England. 

Swan hailed from Switzerland, the child of Intamin, and had 15 brothers and sisters who all led a similar life, carrying anything up to 800 people between their fibreglass wings per day. Sadly, his siblings suffered a similar fate.

Although a reclusive character, Swan also starred in a 1994 commercial for Alton Towers along with his friends at Alton Towers.

Swan passed away peacefully in the winter of 2003/4. 

No flowers.
