About the Mitch Hawker coaster polls Every year, members of the internet community vote for their favourite coasters in the Mitch Hawker Annual Internet Roller Coaster Poll. Unlike many lists where unfair bias is given to rides which has had more riders, voters in this poll have to rate coasters head-to-head which gives a fair representation of enthusiasts' opinions.  Before comparing the poll results, please bear in mind the following two points: There is no distinction between cloned coasters as they are ranked as a single ride. Individual features specific to each clone (example: theming on Batman La Fuga) are not accounted for in the poll. Secondly, the poll is a snapshot of enthusiasts' opinions. Our site rates coasters on their ability to entertain their target audience, where-as it's likely (although not proven) that enthusiasts vote on the poll according to their individual preference. These are sorted by poll ranking. Our listing merges together two annual polls; wooden roller coasters and steel roller coasters. As a result, duplicates may appear where a wood and steel coaster both have the same ranking.   Notes on Dragon's Fury and Spinball Whizzer's classification: Dragon's Fury and Spinball Whizzer are counted as Maurer X3000 coasters, although we would argue Dragon's Fury in particular is a heavily customised coaster. These two rides are therefore counted as clones in the poll - and consequently this classification. . Key to icons .
