Article imageCall me mad, but I think InFusion looks OK.

Pleasure Beach Blackpool announced InFusion, the relocated SLC from the now-defunct Pleasureland Southport with a typical amount of fanfare.

This isn't just any secondhand Vekoma SLC. It's an 'exhilarating infusion of the elements'. So says the press release. It also goes on to say that it 'soars to amazing heights, and takes riders through a whirlwind water experience to amaze and astound the senses'

OK, it's PR spin, but the water element could actually add another dimension to an otherwise fairly uninspiring coaster. Artists' impressions show that the dark blue supports remain, with striking cyan track instead of TraumaTizer's red.

There is a tunnel (of sorts) on the first drop, a large water feature built into the far end of the layout with other water effects scattered throughout the 2,200ft track.

Don't expect InFusion to set the world alight, but it's the best we can expect from the park at the moment. Amanda Thompson has become the wicked witch of the west coast due to removing more rides, often of historical merit, while adding very little.

InFusion doesn't look like it will do much to redress the balance, but hopefully it will pave the way for some meatier investments in the near future.

I suspect it won't though.
