Two more rides coming in 2006 can be added to the list...

At Adventure Island, Southend-on-Sea, Essex...
A new ride is being built by the park's own engineering team, 'The Adventure Island Workshop'. It will be called Fireball, more details and a construction gallery can be found on this page.

As well as this, Blackbeard's Pirate Adventure is being rethemed, and will now include a short cinema presentation. The attraction will now be called Blackbeard... All At Sea. More details and gallery on this page...

The reason that Zamperla mouse is the same as the Reverchon one is that Zamperla act as representatives for Reverchon in the USA.

Hurri,

Thanks very much for the additions - these'll be added tomorrow. I must say I'm impressed that Adventure Island are actually building Fireball themselves.

Tom,

Thanks for clearing up the Zamperla mouse conundrum. I wonder whether this European mouse is a second hand one, or whether Zamperla also sell them in Europe.

You might notice the similarity in the design of Fireball to the Cow Jump, Drop N Smile, Sk8Borda, Jumping Jolly Rogers, and Beelzee Bob's Trail. Or you might not. But they were all built on site too.

The Workshop are now pretty experienced ride manufacturers.. But they refuse to build a coaster, they say it'll be too hard. I'd quite like to see them do it though, it'd definitely be interesting to see how a Workshop coaster would ride.

Oh my god an amazing peice. I didn't know half of these rides were opening. I want to disagree about Stealth but know what you mean..... they could have done more with the idea true.

I didn't hear about Thunderbird although I really hate GCI coasters tbh. The surprise for me was the new Splash Coaster which looks really great.

Good read. I heard Blackpool is getting a 4D cinema (woopie) and another ride rumoured to be a KMG XXL or a Starflyer. Does anybody know anything else about this?! I love the idea of XXL but not so keen on Starflyer

Just to let you know Marcus, you put down the incorrect opening date for Stealth. Its March 15th, not April 15th.

A shame you didnt delve into Kumalis opening, I feel its one of the Uk's largest coaster related events this year, and a real gem for an up coming park.

Actually, yes, you're right - in retrospect we should have done more on Kumali, but we will be doing more on Flamingo Land in the near future hopefully.

For what it's worth, we agree - it is such a shame to see two Schwarzkopf coasters leave the country, but Flamingo Land does appear to be making a real effort to clean the place up.

Dont forget this year is the last year for the BPB Log Flume!

Author: Anonymous on Sunday, February 05, 2006

the name for the new coaster at Oakwood is SPEED and there have been no confirmed reports that the BPB Log Flume will be removed this year

Another ride, which will be opened july, 18th is 'Lighthouse Tower' at Holiday Park, Germany. It'll be a Funtime 'Star Flyer.'
